EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

These Emergency Procedures are to be followed under any conditions or circumstances that results in/from actual Injury, Illness, or Accident.

  • Call 911 for the following:
  1. There is any doubt as to the nature and extent of the injury or illness.
  2. The person is unconscious (check for medical alert bracelet or necklace).
  3. You cannot stop the bleeding.
  4. The injured individual goes into shock.
  • Be able to provide brief description of the situation and provide address, location of individual and phone number.
  • For in injured employee who is conscious, determine the following:
  1. Is there a medical condition (diabetes, heart trouble, pregnant, etc.)
  2. Is the person on any medication? If so, what medication?
  3. Get the name and phone number of a person or family doctor.
  4. Get medical insurance information.
  5. Ask preferred hospital, if required.
  6. Ask name of person (spouse, mother, etc.) to be contacted in an emergency.
  • Notify the following:
  1. Individual’s immediate supervisor.
  2. Vinson Supervisor.
