SECURITY PATROLS

First Patrol - Very Important.

Every patrol is important, but your first patrol of the tour could be the most important. Be particularly vigilant on this first patrol. Make certain that no machine or motor has been left running that should have been turned off. If you are not thoroughly familiar with the equipment, do not touch the switch. Call your Supervisor immediately.

  • Survey the post for any unnecessary lights on, running water or unauthorized persons. Secure the premises as completely as possible.
  • Examine all doors, windows and skylights. Secure them.
  • If you discover a broken window or door, secure as best you can and REPORT IT without delay.
  • Check for obstructions in aisles around sprinkler shutoffs, etc.
  • If you discover evidence of smoking or drinking in forbidden areas, REPORT IT. All negligent acts must be reported immediately to safeguard all persons and the Client's property.
  • Find the source of any strange odors, particularly smoke or gas. Do not use a lighter, or match, use a flashlight.
  • Check the employee’s locker room for lighted cigars and cigarettes - this could result in a disastrous fire.

Last Patrol

Be as thorough on this patrol as you were on the first. Never leave your post until you are properly relieved. Upon being relieved, turn in all written reports to the proper person and also pass on to your relief any information that might assist him during his tour.

REMEMBER: Your reports are an accurate reflection of the type of security you are giving the Client.

***Necessary notions should be made in your Daily Report.***
